The Arabic Network for Human Rights Information, ANHRI, strongly condemned the summoning of Fatima Al Rihani , the blogger of Arabica, to the anti-crime squad office on 2/11/2009. ANHRI denounced the continuing repression in Tunisia and the ongoing threat of prosecution that bloggers and activists there have to face. “The detention of Al Rihani is another violation added to the poor record of the state of Tunisia on human rights” said ANHRI.

The Arabic Network for Human Rights Information deeply regretted the continued imprisonment of the young blogger Kareem Amer, despite his legal right of early release. According to ANHRI, the Interior Ministry insistence on holding the young man in prison till the beginning of the fourth year means that the ministry insists on more abuse against critical voices that express their personal views.

Nour filed a communiqué against Azab accusing him of insult and libel, an accusation, in case it is proved to be true, that could not lead to prison sentence in Egypt.

The Arabic Network For Human Rights Information , ANHRI, stated that the cassation court deferred Kareem appeal session to 20/10/2009, two weeks before releasing Kareem after having served three quarters of the term. The deferring decision was because the court requested a memorandum from the technical bureau affiliate of the prosecutor general.

The phenomenon reached Cairo airport where officers confiscated the laptop of Wael Abbas , the well known blogger, on 30/6/2009 to be reviewed by the general censor authority. The laptop disappeared since then.

It also demanded the ministry to be more honest and transparent regarding the reasons behind what it falsely calls "policy of equitable use of the Internet". The policy adds more financial burdens to the users of the internet. Moreover the ministry announced its abandonment of that policy, but the fact is that it will be applied during the next two months.

The Arabic Network for Human Rights Information , AHNRI, declared today that Saudi security arrested the Syrian blogger, Raafat Al Ghanem ,25 years , a Saudi resident and owner of the blog "Defaf", http://www.elaphblog.com/raafat on 29/7/2009 and detained him in an unknown location . Raafat Al Ghanem ,a Syrian living in Saudi with his family, has gone to the passports administration in Ryiadh upon their request from his father.
